Organization

The Tennessee Society of Professional Engineers is organized geographically into 7 local chapters; Chattanooga, Knoxville, Lakeway, Memphis, Nashville, Tullahoma, and Upper East (Tri-Cities).

An elected Board of Directors conducts the business of the society with support from the TSPE Staff . The Board of Directors consists of an Executive Committee and assembly of State Directors.

Mission

TSPE will promote the ethical and competent practice of engineering and advocate licensure, serve the needs of and enhance the image and well being of all engineering professionals, and promote the involvement of engineers in society.

2008-2009 State Goals

TSPE is committed to protecting the public health and safety.  To do this TSPE will

? act as legislative "watchdogs" and give engineering advice on legislation that  could affect health and safety and

? advocate licensure to ensure the competent and ethical practice of engineering within Tennessee.

We believe in and value the contributions engineers have made to society and will continue to add in the future.

· We will further serve the public by getting the word out about what engineering is.

· To help ensure the future of engineering, we will work with students  and support programs aimed at science, math, and engineering, such  as National Engineers Week, Lego League, MATHCOUNTS, and the Tennessee Engineering Foundation.
